SimPlant Family

SimPlant OneShot

This is a pay-as-you-go version of SimPlant, designed for dental practices that place only a limited number of dental implants per year. The software itself is free, but a licence fee is payable for each case it is used to plan. SimPlant OneShot can be downloaded here.

SimPlant Planner

For practices placing a lot of implants, this is the most cost-effective way of owning the SimPlant software. You can plan an unlimited number of cases for a one-time licence fee.

To purchase SimPlant Planner in the UK and Ireland (North or South) please contact IDT Dental Products Ltd.

With SimPlant OneShot and SimPlant Planner, the hospital sends the CT data to IDT where it is post-processed and prepared for SimPlant. We then send the SimPlant to the dental practice over the internet via secure FTP (the data can also be sent on CD or via email if preferred) and the dentist uses SimPlant to plan the case. The planned case can then be sent to the dental lab for discussion and alterations can be made very quickly.

Once the plan is finalised a SurgiGuide can be ordered from IDT Dental Products Ltd.

SimPlant Pro

SimPlant Pro is designed for hospitals and large dental practices or dental labs that wish to do the conversion work themselves. SimPlant Pro performs the important functions of importing data directly from a CT scanner, and has advanced segmentation tools to prepare that data for dental implant planning. No need to send the data to IDT for conversion, hence the results can be ready very rapidly.

SimPlant Pro can read the data from any CT scanner that has the ability to write a DICOM CD. The data preparation and planning are done using the same copy of SimPlant Pro, another reason why the results can be ready very quickly.

For hospital departments or large practices with access to a CT scanner, SimPlant Pro is the option of choice. However, (as with SimPlant Master) the SimPlant Pro owner has to do the extra work to prepare each dataset. Depending on the requirements this can take from a few minutes to an hour or more per case.

SimPlant Master

SimPlant Master allows you to work completely in-house and provide your own independent CT scan reformatting service. SimPlant Master can produce datasets for SimPlant OneShot, Planner and Pro, thus you can cater not only for your own needs but also provide a service to your colleagues as well.

The Master software allows you to import CT data from virtually any type of CT scanner - not just those limited to producing a DICOM CD. The most common way that datasets are output from older CT scanners is on magneto-optical disk (MOD) in either Maxoptix or Pioneer format. The SimPlant Master software with the full CT Convert module supports both of these MOD formats along with network transfer, cassette tape and CD input.

The data from CD, tape or MOD can be read and prepared in-house and the results distributed to any dental practice running SimPlant Planner or Pro. Master owners also have the ability to produce a SimPlant OneShot dataset, this gives dentists access to the SimPlant Software without having to purchase a full SimPlant licence. In order for the SimPlant Master owner to produce a OneShot dataset a royalty fee is payable to Materialise using a coupon system. Coupons are distributed by IDT Dental Products Ltd in the UK and Ireland (North and South).
